Thanks for the feedback Emperor Andreas, and Hood.

Hood I based the details on the US Wichita.

Length: 608 ft 4 in (185.42 m)
Beam: 61 ft 9 in (18.82 m)
Armament: 9 × 8 in /55 Mk 12 guns
8 × 5 in /38 Mk 12 guns
Installed power: 8 Babcock & Wilcox boilers
100,000 shp (75 MW)
Propulsion: 4 Parsons steam turbines, 4 screws
Speed: 33 kn (61 km/h; 38 mph)

I made the ship 5 foot wider to take the DP guns, and 90,000shp for 32 knots rather than the 100,000shp for 33 knots on Wichita.

The only thing I was not certain of was the freeboard and draught, whether they could be a bit more. I mounted the 8" slightly higher by about 2-3 pixels to allow for what looks to me like a shallow hull. GD's original design had 4x2 8" and his turrets looked like they were high mounted as well.

17/06 - Edit: Added 2 feet of freeboard and 1 1/2 feet of draught, deleted aft twin 5", replaced with twin 37mm.

Thanks to all the people who commented and or followed this thread.

Von Der Tann will be the last in this series. There were two other drawings I could have done but Tempest has laid claim to one and Garlicdesign has already drawn great versions of the WW1 cruisers to AA ships.

I will go off now and dream up another series of drawings or another AU scenario.
