That actually would be a cool thing! I'd support it if feasible!

Hmmm... I just wonder, loose idea. Hull of Seydlitz rebuild as carrier, would be possible?

Rhade, this is not that Seydlitz! You're referring to the unfinished KM Seydlitz, an Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser during WW2!

No, I refer exactly to this ship. If this ship could be rebuild as carrier, just like Glorious or Lexington.

The real Seydlitz of course ended up on the bottom of Scapa Flow after the surrendered High Seas Fleet scuttled itself.

I have thought about using aircraft carriers as 'commerce raiders' but failed on how to make it work. The aircraft would go through the fuel carried fairly quickly and having store ships available, they would need to be tankers as well full of aviation fuel.

As a converted carrier, Seydlitz would have only had space for 30-35 aircraft, and that would depend on how many 'ship' features/guns were kept aboard as with the later Graf Zeppelin.

No, actually, I don't think the Seydlitz would've been a very viable candidate for rebuilding. Besides, besides naval airships, which saga effectively ended with the shooting down of CDR Strasser, on Aug 5, 1918, and the giant Gotha III bombers, the Imperial German Navy, to my fair knowledge, never contemplated aircraft carriers. And, of course, looking at the BATTLECRUISER Seydlitz' general topview layout, and comparing it with the HEAVY CRUISER Seydlitz, one can easily deduce how unsuitable the BC would have been for such a daunting project! Better then to take the laid up SS Vaterland or incomplete SS Bismarck and convert them!
