Great work! Is that a XAF/CXAM radar?

I drew it some months ago while drawing some of the earlier designs of the Montana class. You can use it, obviously!

Ah, that's great, BB! I found the CXAM to be most elusive on the Internet. Thanks.

I believe she was also carrying a SA radar on the funnel, but I also have no refs for it.

There was a sheet with some WWII USN radars laying around if I'm not wrong, but that would be obsolete by now. Colo has revamped many systems recently but I don't remember the SA being part of them.

I'll add the CXAM/XAF to the USN master sheet later tonight (meant to do that but never got around to it...)

Re: SA, another one I had planned to draw but never got around to. I think the guy who drew the American DEs actually drew it but can't remember. There is a large gap in my involvement between summer 2014 and now. ;)

Still working on getting references for the Mark 33 gun director. I think your version is pretty good. I'd like to create a sheet with all the different marks and mods detailed and shown with elevation and plan views if possible, as well as the different radar mountings. This will come in handy and greatly reduce manual work for each new USN ship class we draw.

edit: Yep the SA air search radar is available here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5597

I'll make a grey version and post it on the big sheet tonight with CXAM (need to revise the whole thing really, it's too disorganized).
