darthpanda you've absolutely nailed this! One thing though, if you're using the Russian Project number shouldn't you use Akula, the Russian class name for the boat? With the NATO reporting name separate?

but that is confusing because NATO also call Project 971 Akula class.

Should suffice - and I wonder if the above would be a nice standardization for all Soviet/Russian-style ships? It would certainly help the people unfamiliar with their designs (like me).
