Thanks!

Yes, although in theory access to the "Archivist" account is shared between Gollevainen, Colosseum, Nighthunter and me, for practical purposes it's just me. Unfortunately.

"Unfortunately" for two reasons:
1) There are no other volunteers to do it.
2) The "Master Lists" were meant, when they were created, to be just an interim solution before the (planned at that time) major overhaul of the way things are uploaded to the Archive - or at least before the uploads would be made much more regular. And unfortunately that didn't quite went as planned - as for the SB uploads, there were/are certain concerns voiced (in the relevant comment thread), and as for the FD uploads, the most-current procedure was that I am collecting the files, uploading them to box.com from which Gollevainen downloads them and uploads the content to the main Archive. The file with most current FD update I sent to Golly on 9 November, but according to the statistics on box.com it was never even downloaded. :(
(so now while I'm still collecting the files, I'm not even sending them)

Yes, for a while I had counted on the services of a few web development guys I used to work with at my day job to help revamp the site. They were pretty talented and wanted the extra income that I would be paying them in order to create a fully-automated file management system for the site. This would have come with logins to the main site (tied to your forum account) and the ability to upload your own content to the main site for approval by a select group of "approvers" (basically anyone shown to be a worthwhile contributor).

Unfortunately both of the guys ended up moving away to take other jobs at high-paced startups in San Francisco (where you literally will work 100 hour weeks) and thus didn't have the time to contribute. The project fell by the way side.

I'm sure, given the right talent, someone could be found who could build this system into the shipbucket main site. But the loss of my two friends who were eager to help as well as my own job responsibilities rapidly increasing with a promotion meant the project unfortunately died. :(

That's the backstory. If anyone wants me to expound further on how the system (as I envisioned it) would have worked, let me know.

Yes eswube has done his share of the work indeed, really good thing that is :)

Also, Colo's post highlight lot what the proplems have been on the rewamping the mainsite. The dream still lives on, and all help from irreproachable members of our community would be handy (in all matters naturally).

Thank you eswube for doing that task, and thanks also to Colosseum for his work on the site. I also believe that Golly's work should also be appreciated.
