Holy hell, this was a while ago...
To update on the situation with which I left this thread; yes, I punted that depression by the balls and moved onwards, worked my ass off during the rest of the year, danced on the brink of yet another dive, but got out of it, and currently bludgeoning any residuals feelings of angst with a proverbial hammer of general anger(No, this is not healthy. Yes, that's a secondary matter). And for the first time in forever(singers will be shot), I felt like drawing a new ship, and completing it. One ship became four, and here we are.
Like many of my personal designs, these were part of some grand flying scheme of an alternate universe of for me unpresedented scale. I tempered these schemes with a good deal of self knowledge, and as soon as I stopped feeling like making more ships, I pulled the break, instead of trying to force myself to make the rest of the ships for said AU(I have piles of completed drawings that have been mothballed simply because I couldn't bring myself to put them i templates after having tried to just cram out more ships for that specific AU).
Jesus, I really am incapable of making a return without a long winded rant replete with self depricating observations.
To get to the point, here are the ships(Photobucket took its sweet time uploading the buggers, tell you that):
The obligatory large cruiser that you can't escape whenever I start to draw AU ships;

Displacement: 12 600 t standard, 13 800 t max

Armament
3x3 219mm/50

The light cruiser that you could swear is the large cruiser's younger brother who wants to be just like him:

I'll probably try update the first destroyer once I get home from work, but really wanted to post this now... hence the slightly bare aft superstructure.
Welp, that was pretty much it... Cheers folks, it feels good to be back, though I'm unsure if I will post any more drawings in the close future.

Good looking ships Hugo, you have always had a nice touch when drawing your cruisers.


(In Greek/Roman mythology you could name them Hermes (6") and Apollo (8") - Apollo being the big brother of Hermes)

I like these works a lot from an artistic standpoint. They have their own unique flair and architectural style, which is neither overly derivative of real-world influences, nor too simple and generic. Congrats!

Thank you. The naming idea is actually slightly inspiring, and I might've used it had I planned to set these ships in a setting where the names themselves fit(Or if plans are changed and it becomes an AU in a fitting setting).

Thank you. I actually used a a few real world inspirations, mainly the Portland and Scharnhorst classes layout-wise for the cruisers.
