I have an old, inactive AU, Hellenic Kingdom. A reboot is coming, I still write the background story. Look it ( especially last 10 pages) but pls any comment in pm.

How many VLS positions this frigate has? Are you intend to post some specs?

Looking at it odysseus1980 I thought either 32 or 48 cells depending on the beam you have available. 32 Would seem more the more logical choice to me however.

Just a minor point, but the Close In Weapons System you have mounted (The Millennium Gun) is a gun, not a missile launcher. If you want to fire off short range SAMs, Something like the French Mistral (in any of the various launchers) or RAM would be a good choice.

Oh, duh. I kept thinking to myself when I was working on it 'remember to get rid of those missiles since you mounted the guns.' But I still forgot. I'll fix it.

At the moment, well, there's an issue with the radar fit: it's the full on getup you'd expect for an anti-air focused escort, but the ship doesn't have any meaningful AA armament beyond CIWS. In other words, very expensive but apparently not being put to use. This immediately raises a few questions:

What's the intended roll of the ship? What does 'Support Cruiser' actually mean?

Is it intended as to act as a flag ship within a task force with other air-defence capable ships (with weapons controlled by the 'flag ship' by datalink)? If so, having a point defence SAM system would still be useful.

Is it intended to be something like the German F125 Frigate, capable of long deployments covering 'low intensity' stations? If so, you'd probably want to cut the radar fit back a bit to keep the price in check... look at the British Type 23 or Type 26 for a suitable fit out.

Thanks for your insightful comment. I intended the ship to be the centerpiece of a long range mission task force and have the ability to carry some form of small special force. I'll make some changes to the armament and radar and post a new version. I'm thinking I'll probably replace one of the millenium guns with some AA missiles.
