With all the cool stuff being posted I decided to post something: A Romanian H-5
The Romanian Peoples' Airforce ordered these from Harbin (the manufacturer) in China, and began to receive them in 1971 (despite the fact that they were vastly outdated by that point). They entered service in 1972, and replaced a number of original Il-28's they had operated from the 50s. All together 12 of bomber version of the aircraft were imported (numbered 307 to 310 and 701 to 710 missing out 702 and 705) along with two trainers (numbered 407 and 408) that were received in 1980. The Aircraft remained in service into the first years of the next millennium, with the remaining aircraft all being in service with a Reconnaissance Squadron by the year 2000. The type didn't last long into the new millennium however, with all remaining aircraft being withdrawn from service in 2001 after two consecutive crashes. This particular aircraft is seen in a special paint scheme, as it was due to be displayed at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2001. Unfortunately it is one of the aircraft that crashed, leading to it's withdrawal: It returned from a training flight the day before it was due to depart for the RIAT, where the crew attempted to land the aircraft in bad weather. A strong crosswind unbalanced the aircraft as it touched down, leading the pilot to deploy the braking chute, causing the aircraft to crash on the runway, breaking in two. The crew were left unharmed.
I decided to do it as I liked the paint scheme, and I like how this came out, although the polar bear looks a bit off but it was the best I could do. Doesn't compete with the amazing work by Naixoterk however, good job with the 110s!
