It is with a heavy heart that I mention this. Longtime member and contributor Canis passed away yesterday during surgery to amputate his foot due to an unrecoverable amputation. Canis was well known in these forums for his love of ships, especially passenger liners. He is also very well known for his love of science fiction, especially Battlestar Galactica. Rest in peace, my friend. We will miss you.

I am so sorry to hear this, Canis D was always one of my favorite hypothetical warship artists...

Truly sad news. I always liked reading his website and his AU stuff was always great.

Canis D was a contributor to many sites, and he will be missed on all of them. It was following the links on Wolfs shipyard that brought me to Shipbucket.

Rest in Peace.

Almost happened the same way for me, Wolf's Shipyards was on the sites that got me interested in ship drawings and ultimately led me to end up here.

His great contribution to the art world, whether ships or Science Fiction, will be sorely missed.
It is with very great admiration to his Shipbucket liners, that I will always fondly remember our work on the S.S. United Sates.
RIP dear friend, we'll shall miss you :(

For me I will always fondly remember David for bringing to life the two most majestic flying vessels ever: ZRS-4 Akron and ZRS-5 Macon. Unparalleled in their sophistication, for me they stand as fitting monuments to a truly great artist.

My condoleances go to his family and those of you who knew him as a friend.
