I'm a purist like smurf.
I'd love to see the original designs in all their glory here, but I certainly would like to see the other possibilities in the Own Designs section (they should be separated to avoid any confusion for anyone coming across these drawings later).

I think, as I discovered with the Surreys, there is a job of work here to get it right and cover some of the other designs too. This one seems to be a pretty complicated story given the different designs and layouts and the 9.2in cruiser adding another layer on top.

" 'as designed' with aviation facilities (basically the drawing already posted)"

I suggest (on the basis of the drawings in Raven and Roberts' British Cruisers

1. All your superstructure needs moving bodily back relative to the hull by about half a funnel's width
2. The bow needs a little flare, to about 3/4 of the height of the present jackstaff, starting at the rear of B turret.
3. The main turret fronts need to move towards the muzzles, covering the present wider jacket on the barrel. Muzzles stay where you have them. Slightly alters the proportions between gunhouses and barrels.
4. The aft AA positions are two 8-barrel 2pdr pompoms centred half way back on the hanger top with the 4in twin on the deck only very slightly aft of centre. (Friedman doesn't show that mount on his profile).
5. I don't know what you have put on the forward midships of the hanger roof, but it would blind the pompom arcs, and anyway there is no room for a structure of any useful width between the 8-barrel pompoms which were big beasts.
6. Separate rangefinder behind the director above the bridge as well as aft.

Minor adjustments, really, to give a more accurate representation of the original drawing, for an otherwise excellent rendering.

Hello again!

I have revised the drawing according to Smurf's comments:
- superstructure moved aft
- more sheer to the bow
- main turrets lengthened to cover the entire barbette
- AA on top of and alongside the hangar moved
- Pompom director moved to clear arcs for the guns
- HA director moved
- hull cutout for boat alongside hangar added
- boat arrangement between bridge and funnel changed

Variants (1944, 1950, 1957, 1964 and 1970) will appear in the Thiaria: Other People's ships thread

Greeting
GD

Apart from saying that this is a very handsome ship, and damnit why couldn't the Brits have build them!, I have to make one question: Normal stern, or transom?

If it's a transom stern, something the RN really went for in their late 30's and further designs, then the cutoff underwater could stand to be a bit sharper.

Transom. (Drawings in the Cover are waterline.)
Not built because resources needed for escorts, carriers, tank landing craft and damage repairs, while gun turrets would not be available until 1943 at earliest, and ships not ready until 1944. The only heavy gun ship continued was Vanguard, and she was not finished during the war.
Armour and gun-making resources also went to tanks.
