Well here is a bit different type of update.

[ img ]

Basicly this is just something I drew specially for Alex and his father, both of which have helped me lot with reference material and sources over these years. This particulary ship was from really suberp linedrawing straigth from the shipyards archives, that sort of demanded to be drew in pixels. Since Alavama himself is planning to do the same vessel in FD scale, I offered to it in SB and dedicate it as a gift to them both. Its Alex's fathers favorite ship, and I've myself always liked these dutch vessels.

I won't include this on the uploading schedule, but i decided to share it with you others never the less, my orginal intention (and partly the reason for agreeing to draw this) was for AU purposes, but that ship allready sailed elsewhere ;)

very nice! I just have never heard them refered to as Piet Hein class.....
also, why not upload it? I see no reason not to, and if it is an improvement over ALVAMA's original there is a reason to upload.

Piet Hien appears on some sources as the class name, propably becouse she was the first one commisioned, usually its refered as "admiralen" class

I personally would prefer that name on the template (Admiralen is indeed what in most sources they are refered to) but I could understand Piet Hein on the grounds that the Isaac Sweers existed, being an admiral but the ship being a separate class.

Fantastic work Golly, a really nice drawing.

I'm sure I've seen them referred to as Piet Hein in some English books.

Very nice work! She was renamed Van Ghent on 1 October 1934 so as to make the name De Ruyter available for a light cruiser then under construction. As Van Ghent, she ran aground off Tjilatjap and was subsequently scuttled by her sister ship Banckert on 15 February 1942.
