Why not just fit Storm Shadow to the A330 MRTT ? should be much cheaper than a dedicated bomber if PFI doesn't get you ;)

Although it wouldn’t be my choice for a RAF strategic bomber... (personally I think that with the SSBNs there are no real need for them), but if budget wasn’t a problem, as the main opponent (& target) is much closer, I think range is not so critical as a fast response, so I would go for something like a Anglo-French mini-Tu-22M, which also could be used in maritime strike role... I made several sketches of it, but I really doubt that I will have sufficient will to someday “shipbucketing” them.

But on the other hand a RB211s re-engined B-52 was contemplated very seriously by USAF, so here's the RAF version... Basically a B-52H with 4x RR211-535E4s instead of its 8x TF-33s (using the refit, aft Vulcan was removed), and a refueling probe to be compatible with RAF tankers, I know the position of the probe is a bit unorthodox, but it´s the best place I could find, as the cockpit roof and the radome are already occupied with other stuff... Paint scheme is RAF Hemp overall with Anti-Flash White undersides.

As always, any comment, advice or corrections are welcome!

Looks very good and plausible, I was thinking about a hemp colour scheme too, though anti-flash white probably wouldn't be needed unless your dropping WE177s.
A retractable fuelling probe would make sense, as you say location is not optimal but at least the pilots can see the tip in that position. The roof is otherwise occupied.

Thanks Hood! I agree with you, in fact my first choice was Hemp & Light Aircraft Grey “à la” Nimrod… But I wasn't convinced about the result… :) and if re-engining was carried out in late 80s-early 90s, I read that RAF had WE177 stockpiled until 1998, so if you have them, better to be prepared for use them… (although if you need to deliver a free fall nuclear weapon in those days, I think your last worry is thermal radiation… ;) ). And last but not least I also think about Anti-Flash as a tribute for the once mighty V-Force… But yeah, I know that it's more a personall whim that something really needed or justified... :roll:

Lots of thoughts adenandy, but only two drawings. I was hoping to see a few more so that I could learn a bit more about the subject. My aircraft are not too good yet. And modern aircraft are beyond me.

Not bad. But that refueling probe will cause nose wander and you don't want that at all. How about giving the old B-52 a hunchback with a retractable probe just aft of the pilot compartment symmetric to the fuselage longitudinal dorsal line? Use the hunchback for fuel probe and a satlink? Just a suggestion.

Unless you plan on installing a rear warning ESM pod (a good idea since you deleted the gun.) how about faring that tail stinger too? That square it will be a drag point as the slipstream comes off the tail control.

You want it in mathematics? It's another man's art and he asked for a few suggestions. Unless I get his direct permission, I'm not going to monkey with his work in illustration when he can either accept or reject suggestions based on his own judgment.

I have enough to handle with my own.
