In 1938 Hellas ordered twelve Avro Anson Mk I which was used by the 13th Naval Cooperation Squadron on patrol and escort missions in 1940-1941. At least five escaped to Egypt after German Invasion, where they formed the original core of the Air Force in the Middle East, always serving with the 13th Squadron, until they are replaced by the Blenheim Mk IV. This paticular airframe shown was among those five which escaped to Egypt, where her number was changed to AX 761. Other sources give AX 748 to former "N56".
