I have been fascinated by the history of the Royal Navy Escort Cruiser for many years.
The three designs you have drawn from the 1966 Fleet Working Group look impressive.
But as you mention in your introduction the 1962 design came close to being ordered. The cancellation of SKYBOLT and the hasty adoption of POLARIS came unexpectedly. If this had not happened the 1962 design was ready to be ordered.
In 1962 the CVA01 design still sported 2 CF299 (SEADART) aft and IKARA mounted on a side sponson. By 1963 the armament had reduced to a single CF299. But for cancellation the Escort Cruisers would have done the same.
