On your 1930 rebuilt T/S version of the Tiger, a couple of issues: how do you square it with having a deckhouse erected over the 'Q'-turret base - or what was the base, before the removal of the turret. I'd presume, and I'm sure our knowledgeable collegues here will agree, that the base with shell room, handling room and associated trunks, armor plating, ventilation system, hoists etc, will just cost too much to then replace them for the 1940 rebuild. So, if still retained, the cadets' deckhouse extention will by necessity be very cramped, and quite frankly, probably unwieldy and unworkable. So, I'd recommend removing it, just leaving the base visible. You can erect deckhouses around it, though, even on top of it, but I don't believe in a structure like the one you've got.
Secondly, by 1930, the forward bridge structure would've been substantially built-up, as, indeed happened with Tiger, if you do your homework properly and look at late-1920s pictures and early 1930s pictures (The ship decommissioned in 1931). Right now it is the bare 1914 bridge structure that you've got.
Thirdly, I don't believe in the merit of removing the mainmast as you have done in your 1930 refit; especially not on a T/S! Again, if you choose to heed any of my advice, it would be the tall mast with its particular features from the late 1920s you should draw.

I have done a redesign of HMS Tiger 1930 using JSB's drawing as the base unit.



From 1927 Tiger started having a refit to turn it into a Trials and Training ship. As per JSB's WNT list Q turret was removed. A new catapult fitted to Y turret, which trialled the new Swordfish floatplane from 1932. The 4.7" AA single AA gun was fitted to trial the fixed ammunition mounting. This was not very successful. Crew fatigue being a major problem.

Alright, now we're cooking! Much more realistic looking rendition! Thank you, Krakatoa for taking the advice to your heart!

I like the idea but I think you need to trial the 4.7 on something earlier say a CL rebuild as by then its to late to stop it going onto the Nelsons (but it might save the 5.25' saga and get a split 4.5' )

JSB: I do not mind the 4.7" going on N&R as I rebuild them with new twin 4.5" DP mountings. So the single 4.7's, I end up putting them on the AMC's as they are big enough to have a decent guns crew size.

The reason I asked is that after reading four books on the UK - German
naval arms race, and a biography of Fisher, I have yet to see anything in
print of his direct involvement in the design or construction of anything
smaller than a battlecruiser. These authors leave the impression that
he was "uninterested" in CA/CL/DD designs.

It is a very well known fact, that Fisher was the driving force behind battlecruisers, but he is also responsible for the one-off HMS Swift, built in 1907, with a single 6" gun in the bows and 35kts speed. During WW1 her 6" gun was landed and replaced by two of the usual 4" guns side by side.
