Here's a destroyer from my fictional WW1 empire.






Built off the hull of Garlicdesign's V82 class destroyer.

Some issues:
- the forecastle deck will be very wet due to the negative bow
- the bow wave will make the area around the bridge very wet
- there is very little freeboard, so very little stability and survivability margin
- the funnels look huge for a ship this size
- I am not certain about the value of a ram on a destroyer.
- there are some minor issues as well, but let's get the above ones fixed first

The deck height has not changed at all from the V82 hull I built off of.

The rest of the problems could be fixed in a 1910 refit.

But I have removed the ram.

refits do not fix problems on a ship that might not stay afloat long enough for them to happen
the wetness is 90% caused by the very short forecastle, this and reshaping the bow would fix quite a lot.

I've extended the forecastle all the way to the bridge, does that help?

Welcome aboard,

one thing I've noticed, in any sort of serious swell you will loose your raft stationed fore on the side of the forecastle, those hulls do pitch and roll substantially

This is an image of a similar destroyer is dimensions and era in swell, notice how high it reaches on the hull and the degree of roll?

There's no such thing as "nothing left to draw" If you can down 10 pints and draw, you're doing alright by my standards

The 1910 refit might have issues, but I think for the 1909 version those two main lifeboats are probably enough for the crew.

This navy is mostly used in the Black Sea and Mediterranean, btw.

I'm a bit confused about the first set of torpedo tubes in the 1910 refit. Are they supposed to be centerline or are they singles hanging off of the edge? Wouldn't you be better off just creating a recessed torpedo well behind the A-gun mount and the pilothouse? Is there enough room in the X mount? it seems that this pedestal mount is rather small and would probably have gunners falling off of it while working the gun

Something to consider in the 1911 or 1912 refits.

I would say the pedestal mount is oval in shape and suited more for shooting to the sides than to the stern.

edit: a thing I enjoy about making WW1 ships is I can learn failings in my designs and it'd still be somewhat realistic for those failings to be there.
