Expansion phase.

The Defense White paper 2023-2028, review. Proposed the guidelines a for gradual armed forces expansion from 9000 to 18000, while the reserves would grew from 6000 to 15000, QRF reserves would be created and raised to 4500. At that period end. The number of men and women in the armed forces was 17373 actives in the armed forces with a number of selective conscripts being on average 2955 that year. with a reserve force of 15108, of those, 5166 were in the Reserve 1. Defense butget raised to an average of 1.6% of GDP.

During the period, Not only the size, also capabilities and budget grew. Putting special emphasis on increasing interoperability capabilities and capacity and ability to cooperate with other NATO partners in the alliance in hot spots along the planet.
Such taking part in NATO raids against AQIM related fundamentalists targets in Lybia operation in operation Desert Dawn and operation Atlantis against the piracy in West African Coast and Operation Polo providing protection in the Indic and Red Sea Against Eritrean and Somalian Pirates.

For the navy, during that period, it obtained the ability of operate independently, While Tarragona was an habitual Base for NATO ships. Having operational the necessary infraestructures to keep a navy operative and getting the know-how, with a full working naval academy. It meant an expansion programe and adding larger surface combatants such corvettes, frigates, submarines and getting auxiliary ships.
Avaiable manpower would grow to 1710 regulars and 216 conscripts and 990 reservists.


During that period the Balearic proindependence parties managed an electoral victory and obtained independence from Spain. Catalonia was the first nation that recognized Balearic Islands independence. The Catalan and Balear authorities got to an agreement on confederation. So Catalan Republic took also defense responsabilities over the islands. And meaning a coast guard expansion to deal with illegal migration and drug smuggling routes across the Western Mediterranian.

Some nice ships you've got there. But a small advice, you should save them as png and not jpeg. Right now they are full of pixels.

Navy plans for the period are recomission Former SNSs Patiño and Galicia are being refit and returned. To provide logistic support and allow Catalan Navy to take part in NATO operations with other nation members and also to allow international desployments of catalan contingents and as Landing platform for the Catalan Marine Battalion.

Normally a ship either: A Submarine, corvette, the Oiler or a OPV. Are part of catalan Contribution to SNMG2 as part of NATO reaction Force, while CNS MCMs are avaible for SNMCMGs desployments.

I have already finished a refit of a Galicia/Amsterdam class LPD, former SNS L52 Castilla, as refited to enter in service as L1 Barcelona. It includes 6 LC-1E landing barges or similar.

may I recommend using the updated Rotterdam class drawing as base? in addition, take a look at more accurate parts (for example the RAM and the TACAN). the same goes for your Patino drawing, there is an Amsterdam on the main site, these updates were never carried towards the spanish version but especially for AU purposes they should be accurate.
