Third line:guard grenadiers*, guard voltigeurs, guard chasseurs, guard zouaves, line infantry, foot chasseurs (chasseurs a pied).
Fourth line: line zouaves, turcos.
* - guard grenadiers wore bearskin hats in the beginning of the 1870 campaign, but because of summer heat they were changed for "bonnets de police" (side caps).
I am going to do second sheet about french cavalry and third about french auxillary troops - foreign legion, franc-tireurs, supply train, justice corps and other services. I will start cavalry in a few days, but one painting is ready.
- this guy is a cent-garde. Cent-Gardes were household troops of the emperor Napoleon and served as escort and palace-guard troops.
