How do you load the SeaSparrow launcher? Also, only one director for each launcher?
From bellow in similar way as Oslo class (Oslo class har from side loading though.)
Emphasis mine. The Mk 29 is loaded horizontally either from an overhead rail or a dolly. The missile is usually stored in a magazine right next to the launcher. On the Oslo class stores them in the structure just forward of the launcher.
Vertical loading would entail a massive investment in automated loading systems.

Oslo class had only one director for it's sea sparrow. I have two... One aft, one forward.
The Oslo class is a 2100t ASW frigate. This is a 30000t (?) cruiser.

I have two solution for the mk29 I can either draw an superstructure behind it or lower it down to the deck.

I think I will add an second "egg" (director) on here.

I am wondering what never were versions I can draw....

Have been working a little one the Heavy cruiser.

- done some small adjustment.
- added an extra director for Mk-29.
- added an basic top-view on the as build drawing, just so everybody can get the idea on how massive the ship is.
- Made an Never-were version on here, on how she was intended to be build, This is just to show what modification she went trough during construction.

To do, drawing the class as the newer-were version of here as missile cruiser.

Admiral Kruz class was original planned as an escort for Haram's five super-carrier. The original order was:

- 5 ship in an single class of Heavy cruiser.
- With Light and Heavy AAW weaponry.
- A mine armament, capable to take out several surface target, fast and accurate.
- Capable to make an dead zone around the carrier and them self.
- Capable to keep up with the carrier.
- Very-long range capacity.

What Haram ended up with was a ship with this stat:
--------
Project 789HC Admiral Kruz class
planned: 5+2
build: 2 (modified)
scrapped: 2
--------
Heavy Cruiser
Tonnage: designed max: 33.000 tons, standard: 22.000 tons
Length: 262 meter
Beam: 28 meter
draft: max: 9.8 meters, Standard, 9.3 meters.
crew: 1400 - 1800
Propulsion: 4 shaft, combined electric an several geared turbines and two low pressure revers turbines on two shaft, 12 boilers in combination of super-high, medium and low pressure boilers. Max: 180.000 shp. (With safety limiter removed: 211.000 shp for short time period (burst speed))
Speed: 33,2 knots (burst at 35+- knots).
Armament:
- 4 x triple 155 mm Havok (model 1200) Mk-8
- 14 x single 56 mm Befer Mark 13 "Bull"
- 12 x twin 40 mm Befer Mark 43 "Dancer"
- 8 x twin 20 mm Befer (contracted) Mark 18 "Sprite"
Aircraft:
two float planes of various model.

The never were version, how she was intended to be build:

During building process, Havok Heavy industries offered there new developed radars and rockets, for cheep. They wanted it tested on an ship.

The modification saw an reduction in guns, but it received radar's and new directors. They believed that with the new radar they would get the same result with less armament due to the radar.

What she was modified into:

[ img ]

The 1977 refit.
Later in here carrier they was upgraded with Sea Sparrow in Mk-29 launcher. and totally new director systems and improved communication systems. during this upgrade she lost her experimental radar and all of the 40 mm guns. she received and landing path for helicopters. here old director was modified to an automated system, with new sets of computers and radars build in to them. she even received satellite communication. The control of the main armament could also be now controlled by any director on the ship. she recived an small rack of depth chargers that was intended for training. She recived an new bow to, in an try to make her "not so wet" forward at speed!

The all missile refit, planed for, never done.

wonder if I am going to replace the forward 56-57mm with an Mk-11 launcher... just like I have done with the aft one (replaced with an Mk-29).

The purely missile armed never-was is cool, but what about retaining some of the main guns a la de zeven provincien?
