At least since the 8th of this month, possibly two weeks now, if not more.

Majhost's "maintenance" periods are getting more and more frequent and prolonged. :(
It's otherwise very nice site - nothing fancy, very simple, down-to-earth, but when it's more "not working" than "working" then some tough decisions must be made. I'm already transferring all my SB/FD stuff to Dropbox. Downloading is not a problem, but getting all the links, modifying them (to be workable) and replacing in the threads...

Yeah, that's my greatest concern, but I think I have to begin the same process :?

I've been using imgur since I started posting here. A very simple, easy to use host that never seems to go down.

I was in the same boat as you Kim, but I switched to Dropbox and actually was surprised how easy it is to use and the mass uploading function which makes recovering from losing one's image host

I did a little searching, and there are very little information out there on majhost.com problems. but I found small things, like one of the host owner of the name have during the last few years some court cases against them (but they are an separate company).

I could also find out that majhost.com domain name is expiring during the 3 next months (The name have to be registered as an company name or something like that), Normally you would have you'r domain name re-registered in good time in advance.

majhost.com is hosted in an "sky"-server... and the majhost.com main server is placed outside Washington.

But seeing that Majhost haven't re-registered there domain and it's down owner longer time periods and also one of the company's that was helping with starting majhost.com have court problem of there self. I think majhost have either:

1. a massive hacking bringing down there servers, should be news on that.
2. problems with the main server that are connected up to there "sky".
3. Ore they have not pay'd the bill to the hosting company of there "sky"-server....
4. Under investigation from governmental bureau. (the expiring time of the domain name and many other host company's are being shutting down, since they are hosting movies, music, etc. for free... and majhost might have ended u in the same thing.)

I will say if majhost.com isn't up during the next 3-5 months. Majhost.com is gone.
