Yamato is a nice ship (although I personally hate Hotel), and came about from a long process of designing.

As you can see, we have 25 versions in this chart (consolidated from various plans), out of more than 50 or so concepts. Just like how any battleship is a laborious process, so too was Yamato.

However, one thing I have noticed here was that most representations tend to be a mixture of several plans instead of being a specific plan. For example, ALVAMA's A-140 drawings (J1, J2, "Fujimoto") do not correspond to the chart, by either using the wrong guns (J series called for Nagato's gun with a superheavy shell) placing the main turrets in the wrong way (both Js, and Fujimoto was the designer of the F series, not A/G/K), or using different numbers of secondaries.

If I had the skill, I would personally try reconstructing most of these ships, but as you can see from my works, I'm a pretty simple person who doesn't have as much dedication to details as required for drawing IJN ships. So, I'm posting this here in hope that there might be a kind soul to help me redo the A-140 drawings, so that not only do we get things accurately, but we advance knowledge for all.

Thank you.

I don't know if these are part of the "8-8 Fleet" design program or not, but if so, the majority of them have been drawn in excellent detail, as seen here:

They're not related to A-140 at all.

The A-140s are part fo the design phase that ultimately led to the Yamato class Battleship.
I might try my hand on them in a very distant future if they end up being still unclaimed. Anyone is oblviously free to pick and draw them up in the meantime.
