- Both turrets were designed and constructed earlier, so technically it's nothing new.
- I'm following the historical US design of April 1938 which protected against 18"/48 between 20,000~29,000 yards, while the Chinese in this world use a French 17.7"/45 (historically developed in 1920~1922). The two guns have similar shell weight and muzzle velocity, so they should have similar trajectory and effects. The only major difference between Gwangmu and April 1938 is increasing the belt armor from 375 to 400 to cover for using vertical armor (used to ensure easier repairs).
- Earlier naval war of 1936 accelerates development (never mind prior events), so everyone will commissioning what would amount to 1942~1943 by 1940. Just think of everything being 2~3 years ahead on average, although there are also some parts which are behind (such as naval aviation being more of scouting/land strikes rather than anti-ship_
- It only starts construction in 1938 after the tide of the land war turned somewhat.

There is something I have to ask: How do you model the various bulkheads in SpringSharp? Already I have more armor than Iowa or the April 1938 design (even after taking into consideration the inclined-vertical armor issue), and quite a bit is taken up by 180 mm of torpedo bulkhead. Weight-wise I've matched the April 1938 design, but I do wonder if I can make this more efficient.

Very god question I don't really know what it counts ? I would love an explanation manual for spring sharp but haven't found one.

judging from the Aichi E13A1 on your ships catapults is it safe to assume your Empire is allied with Japan or at least has licensing agreements with Japan.

Yes, the two countries are very close allies.

Seolpung-Class Destroyer

- 18 × depth charges

The first naval ship accepted into service following the formation of the Greater Korean Empire. Developed as part of a joint program with Japan, Seolpung's main mission was to form the backbone of the new Korean Imperial Navy with defensive operations. This was in contrast to the Japanese emphasis on an all-out attack vessel, and as such this resulted in a split of design from Destroyer No. 35 (future Fubuki). All in all, it is arguably the "the world's first modern destroyer", as a multi-purpose destroyer that was able to adapt to the changing battlefield.

One of the more obscure incidents surrounding Seolpung is the "Naming War". Japan originally intended to have hull numbers for destroyers due to the projected large number of warships the Japanese Navy expected to build through the Eight-eight fleet plan. However, this proved to be extremely unpopular with the crews, and when Korea commissioned Seolpung, mass protests from IJN started concerning the use of meteorological phenomena. Given that the close alliance between Japan and Korea meant that there would be large references to each other's ships, there was a need to avoid using the same names in Eastern Characters, with Kongo/Keumgang (金剛) already causing enough troubles. Eventually an agreement was ironed out, among which it was decided that for the time being Korea was to use wind names and Japan snow and rain. This incident contributed to the entrenchment of rather heated feelings between the two services, as each tried to up the other in the construction of destroyers.

All in all, 40 ships were commissioned between 1928 and 1931, with various small upgrades throughout the production time.

I not sure that you can add only 100t and get another twin gun turret and 10,000shp ? (don't think losing one set of TT balances a super firing turret). The turret is 32t each for the IJN one and Fubuki are 1750t (and probably built light with small bridge) I dont think it fits ? Will 10,000shp more not also get you faster on such as similar hull ?

Displacement: 1,850 tons standard (IJN Fubuki 1750) +100t
Length: 118 m (112)
Beam: 10.5 m (10.4)
Draught: 3.2 m (32)
Propulsion: 60,000 shp on two shafts (50,000) + you have added 10,000 shp
Speed: 38 kt (38)
Range: 5,000 nmi at 14 knots (5,000 nmi at 14 knots)
Complement: 205 (219) -14 crew
Armament:
- 8(4x2) x 12.5 cm/50 naval guns (6(3x2) 127mm) + twin gun superfiring
- 2(2x1) × Junggi-2 13 mm machine guns (2 x 13mm)
- 6 × 61 cm torpedo tubes (2x3) (9 (3x3tt)x TT) - one set 3TTs
- 18 × depth charges (18)

Apart from that it looks nice (apart from your image host making it to small to really look at :( )

Weight: Fubuki-class was 1,680 tons standard. I don't know why Wiki uses 1,750 tons.

Click on Full Resolution. I've started using the smaller version for regular posting to save on space and people's data (had a few complain at another site I post these in).

And the Fubuki's were unstable until their rebuild in which the hull was beefed up. All I can recommend is your DD's stay away from rough weather...

Until later modifications. I mean, let's face it, this was a country that was producing copies until the mid 1920s. It would be ASB-level insanity if we expect them to design and produced the well-balanced ships that start appearing in the 1930s this early.

1918 Carrier I'm working on:

[ img ]

Basic idea is that this is a ground-up carrier with Hawkins's hull as the basis.

Basically kitbash of Novice's Hawkins and Bombhead's Hermes. Credit will be added once the ship is completed.
