The air-search radar looks wrong. A better looking one can be found , it says Japan Type 13 air search.

Thanks, Novice! I admit I didn't do proper research on radars. The only thing thing that concerns me is that my reference says the radar is Type 22 Model 2 and it doesn't look like anything on this sheet...
Also now I think I forgot to add 13.2mm machine-guns. So the drawing definitely needs improvement.

Tama's last wartime refit:

27 October - 9 December 1943:
Nos. 5 and 7 140mm. guns removed, as are aircraft catapult and crane. 127mm. HA gun and four triple-mount and six single-mount 25mm. AA guns installed, as is Type 21 air-search radar.

My source says that in July 1944 Tama was fitted with a newer Type 22 mod. 2 air-search radar and 8 Type 93 13.2mm machine-guns. Also her total number of 25mm AA guns was increased to 38 (4 triple + 4 twin + 18 single). I know the 25mm guns are not all shown on the drawing; that's because I'm still looking for the exact scheme of their placement.

combinedfleet.com. is a website with much AU work, so not sure you sould trust it. being 1943, it seems be more locical to use newer stuff!

That portion of the site hasn't been updated in YEARS; surprised it's still on there, actually. The TROMs posted on there are excellent, and it's run by the same guys who wrote Shattered Sword and Battle of Surigao Strait, two of the best Pacific war books ever written. I'd say it's a credible site.

A very fine drawing of one of the best-looking (but slightly odd) light cruisers of the late 1910s/ early 20s. It looks like the IJN and the RN are getting the attention that has been lacking in the last few years.
