appart from Colo's drawing in the link. has anybody draw the USS long Beach Post 1989 with Tomahawk, harpoon, Standard Missiles and updated radar fit...

also has anybody drawn her with the proposed:-

a) regulas Cruise Missiles.

and

b) Polaris missiles.

bothe refits would apparently have also seen the ASROC and 5" mounts moved infront of the bridge....

I was at a point looking in to drawing here, but then I found a cookie...

nah I never got started on here. but she should need a new drawing or just an update on the old one with all the version of here. in fact i she was to be drawn, she should also be drawn with all the never build version of here.

Has anyone drawn the CGN USS Truxton? AFAIK it's not represented on the bucket.

I was wanting to draw especially the Truxtun (CGN-35), and did collect what I could of references apart from book literature, but then Life threw a figurative sledgehammer in my head, and, needless to say, I won't be doing her anytime soon.
I found that side elevations and plans in general of this ship and the USS Bainbridge (CGN-25) are miserly represented online. Maybe I went about it the wrong way???

if its ok with Colo i will oneday if i can find any decent references do Long Beach with regulus and Polaris but finding reference on the proposed fits is proving nigh on impossible, it would be nice to see Truxtun and Bainbridge... although my interest are more purley Post 1945 RN i o hav a strong interest in Nuclear powered ships including USN ans Russian/Soviet design's.....

thanks these references are great but appart from the proposed AEGIS long beach followons, i was hoping more for some concept drawings or maybe even some plans of the ship with the Regulus Cruise missile or the 4 Polaris tubes both concepts would have involved major work behind the bridge structure and involved the relocation of the 5in and ASROC forward.....

this is all i can find after weeks....

Did a small search, didn't find much!

that drawing you posted, there is only one problem on it, I believe the Polaris launcher is placed on the hatch to the aft reactor

on the picture of model ship I have posted bellow, that launcher is mounted on the superstructure.

concept of Virginia-class "strike" cruiser (CGSN):

the drawing I posted is the version with Regulas, as the refit never took place I am unsure as to go with the model or the drawing for position and I have no clue as yet as to what the launcher looked like.

only this from another ship...


I may need an internal layout to work out Polaris as I would assume these tubes would go deep into the hull....
