A very neat idea. Looks very 50s sci-fi!

A bit of whiffery myself, if Kurt Tank had immigrated to the US before or during Hitler's rise to power and caught a job at Boeing:

That looks really nice, Trojan. That's a heck of a tailfin, though, did the F-92 have a lateral instability problem? I know some aircraft *cough* YB-35 *cough* seemed to need the drag from the props to stay straight, becoming worse aircraft once they had jets fitted - similar thing?

Ad
As far as I know Ad, the tailfin's large size is a result of a lot of the XF-92's design being essentially a scaled up versions of Alexander Lippish's delta the DM1. Lippish's desings has similarly large tailfins for their size.
It appears the design was actually relatively stable once fitted with wing fences, but underpowered.

Nice idea Nighthunter. I'd love to see a version with a US radial swapped in for the BMW-801 too.

Guys, guys, because Kurt immigrated, Boeing would probably use the Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone, so it's there you just can't see it.

No. Just. No.

As it stands you no longer have a nose wheel or bay for said nose wheel to retract into.

A better option IMO is to look into a MiG-23 style solution and try to use the existing 20mm drum.
