You'd probably want to retain the compensator though

So convesion is plausible. Nice.

Some history now, for the older EPK25 SMG:
The EPK25 SMG was based on the STA 1922/MAS 1924, itshelf based on Bergmann MP18 I. The gun was named "25" because it was supposed to enter service in 1925, but it delayed until 1929. Delay had nothing to do with the gun. Final design had straight 30 round magazine, no tripod and barrel was exposed to simplify construction. The later EPK25/38 was lighter, mostly due to smaller furniture and the post war EPK25/49 was same with 25/38 with some refinements. Post war production lasted until 1958, while one fourth of production were modified from earlier examples. All variants were selective fire. Like other submachine guns of midwar, front handle was actually the magazine itshelf-especially in later variants. Note that the side charging handle does not move when gun is fired.

Users of EPK25/49 were Navy, Special Forces, Paratroopers, Air Force Guard Units and Security Forces. Only export user was Cyprus, which received both new and reconditioned/modified units. Today the "25" series submachine gun has passed to reserve (last official user was Financial Guard-which received Aris in early 2000's). Several found their way to Hellenic Maritime Security Agency, in use from Maritime Guards onboard ships.

Why would you want a tripod, or any type of -pod for that matter, on an SMG?

For the same reasons that the Czechs put them on the ZK-383, to act as a squad support weapon. As ludicrous as that sounds.

The french design STA 1922 had a tripod, the EPK25 DOES NOT had, because Hellenic Army did not need it. The fire support weapon was the Hotckiss M1222/26, which used 6.5X54R Mannliher ammuntion.

Something related with guns, but for Air Force: Navarhos supplied me with some AU hellenic fighter designs. One of them looks similar with Bloch MB.150/151. I plan to do it in FD-scale, with Bristol radial engine (Mercury of Pegasus, in 900-950hp category) base on Bloch dimensions (~9.1m length and ~10.50m wingspan). Real Hellas PZL.24 had twin 7.92mm Colt-Browning MG and twin Oerlikon 20mm, while the MB.150 had twin 7.5mm MAC 1934 and twin Hispano-Suiza 20mm. Similar weapons more or less.

Many Italian aircraft used the Breda-Safat, based on US Browning M1919 both in 12.7mm and 7.7mm.

Since I need heavier armament I thought using a aircraft variant of Vickers 0.5" and twin Oerlikon 20mm or 4 Vickers (two variants). Is an aircraft variant of Vickers 0.5" plausible?

This is the aircraft:

Plausible but worthless. There's a reason why Brownings were used. Lightness and reliability when compared to the other available options. 13.2mm x99 Browning Commericials are what you want, IIRC available from around 1938.

Hellenic Air Force AU (discussed with eswube in several pm some months ago)

Front line at 1940

120 single engine fighters (10 squadrons of 12 airframes each, 8 with K-4 and 4 with K-5)
40 twin engine light bombers (4 squadrons with E-7)
60 Blenheim medium bombers (five squadrons)
80-100 observation aircraft (something similar with Lysander, 7-8 squadrons)
20-30 recconaisance aircraft (2-3 Squadrons, one with E-7, two with Blenheim or vise versa)
40 transport aircraft (licensed Ju-24 and Ju-52 but with equivalent British engines if possible)
20-24 Avro Anson (two squadrons)

Trainers (150-200 total, eswube said max number 300)-I will choose from real hellenic wings as less types as possible.

Navy Aviation

12 hydroplane fighters (on board ships)
12 Torpedo bombers (E-7N)
8-12 Patrol Seaplanes (indigenous design based on Blackburn Iris/Perth)
6-8 Avro Anson

Hellenic Coast Guard

20 small hydroplanes (improved WW1 types for anti-smuggling, port police and training)
4-6 Patrol Seaplanes (same with Navy)

Air Force has the training of pilots for Navy as well

-State Aircraft Factory plus some small private "aeronautical laboratories" is the industry I planned to have for my AU. These small factories could built trainers and other simple aircraft, while SHAF would built more complicated airframes. For engines there are several machineshops which could do the job (side by side with indigenous diesel engines, up to 17 were in real Hellas during mid war), plus SHAF own engine factory.
-K-4,E-7 and Bleinheim share engines or use similar designs (Bristol Mercury/Pegasus)
-Junkers Ju-52 did had a variant with R-1340 engine, perhaps it could take Bristol Mercury (Both military/civilian variants built, several hydroplanes for island service). Junkers G 24 had Junkers L-5 engine, this or a British engine shared if possible with at least one other type). Again both military/civilian variants as with the 52.
-Italy start the production of Fiat G.50 in 1935, could the K-4 (an aircraft designed with British assistance) entered production in 1935 or maximum 1936?
-The K-5 with the characteristic long nose from 1939 (with 1300-1400hp V12 water-cooled engine) is the equivalent with Me109 or Macchi 205 Veltro. Only about 40-50 built.
-Navarhos designed these aircraft for Wesworld Hellas.
-Oerlikon 20mm manufacture license could be taken from early 1930's, AA, naval and aircraft variant built.
-The E-7 is equivalent with Potez 630, in production from mid 1939.

In 1938-1939 the two Smyrni Class Cruisers were modified to CAA using the 2-pdr AA and the Vickers 0.5", while the obsolete single 6" guns were replaced with newer twin 6". Later in February 1941 the single 2-pdr converted to twin Oerlikon 20mm (known as EPK30). The conversion designed and tested from R&D Center of RHN, conversion took place in Salamis Naval Base within three days. Here how these two ships appeared in October 1940:

Numbers show the position of each weapon. I thought of putting somewhere 2 or 4 secondary 4.7" (same turret with DD's above). Where is the better position?

Will the twin 6' fit ? the old ship doesn't have turrets so will be a lot of work to put in any barbettes (even if the weight works)
(What do you man by CAA ? is it a CA for AA fire ?)

I would just,
- fit AA guns (twin 4' or single 5'/4.7') to 3,8,9,10
- fit light AA guns 2pdr or 20mm (or .5 due to shortages) to 4,5 and near the rear mast (behind 2 or to the sides near boats)
- fit (2 ?) good AA directors (if you can build or less likely buy them)
- cut boats to make weight limits

Or you could cut the main guns and fit twin 5'/4.7' types, if you are after a escort only ?
