Hallo!

Recent NS convert over here, and to start off, I thought I'd share something that's been in the works for a few weeks or so. This is my fourth attempt and is by far the most realistic out of them all. Basically, it's job is to carry missiles - 128 of them in 2 Mk. 41s. NS's Warships Mk. II thread has been very helpful, but I'd like to see what you guys think.

I do plan to replace the 40's hand-cranked Bofors with some mechanized ones, just need to hop over to the other computer and do that tomorrow.

Anyways, armament:
  • One 5-inch cannon (same as Arleigh Burke)
  • Two Phalanx Block 1B CIWS
  • Five 30mm Bofors
  • Two 11m RHIBs
  • Two helicopters, mix n' match Seahawk ASW, Seahawk, Sea Apache

Also, where can I find an F-15S/MTD drawing? Or at least an F-15E? Or are there not any?

Thanks!

I can dig up a Strike Eagle tomorrow, but the first thing I suggest is that you place it on a Shipbucket template, with a proper credit line.

It's not terrrible, but there is a long way to go. I suggest you draw a basic sketch of the topview to help you with the geometry because you've got quite a few impossible angles.
Welcome to the board.

I did it the best I could with Windows Vista paint, is this good or do I have to redo it on 7?

I also did the topview in class today and saw nothing, can you point a few out for me?

Thanks!

The placement of the SPY-1 radars is wrong, that angle is impossible (or impractical). See this example installation:

So here's what I did quickly:

Where should I place them?

if no one explain it to you, I'll show it to you tomorrow, my time. Have to go to bed, long work day tomorrow.

But I can give you one example (that other people can use to explain things with):

Shipbucket have some drawings rule, one of them is that if a surface is angled from you'r perspective, it should be marked with a very dark grey color, and the surface with a color darker than the original grey used. The drawing above show that on multiple ways (It doesn't mean you have to draw like that drawing, it's a little to advance to go for that level of detail, this early, but later when you have learned all tricks in paint.) (the Drawing above is drawn in paint)

At the moment you have a square box without the indents (they would be lighter at bow facing or darker stern facing) this gives you side radar only.

I was so free to use your own drawing to let you see what JSB,Heuhen and Judah14 try to explain to you . By using the light and darker dhade it looks more natural , and you can see they are placed in a diferens angle .

[ img ]

P.S. personaly i would place them higher more like heuhen and Judah have done than it have a beter range.

So, I heeded your advice; many thanks. I came up with this, is this better?

Oh, and to that end, are large-caliber rail-mounted railguns feasible for emergency coastal defense? As in, in case of war or a giant freaking battleship, the railgun is taken from its shed onto the national circumference railway and pulled out to the site of the 'disturbance'?
