in 1985 Ayutthaya Navy need the large ship with large flight deck, as the main unit responsible for search and rescue missions, found that its ships and aircraft were unable to withstand the rough weather at sea. Moreover, the Ayutthaya Navy needed a new, high-technology ship to modernize its fleet.

Bremen Vulcan present HC500PC Offshore Patrol Helicopter Carriers (OHPC) first Design, the 5,000 tons ship have 2 helicopter landing spots and 2 helicopter parking spots. for the standard version have only 2x30mm/75 GCM-AO3-1 twin anti aircraft guns and 2xM2HB machine guns.







the guided missile version have 1xtwin launcher Sea Wolf Missile + below-deck magazines, 1xSignaal VM.40 Missile Director, 2xOerlikon 20 mm GAM-BO1 machine guns and 2xM2HB machine guns.



Ayutthaya Navy very interested HC500PC but they have comments to Bremen Vulcan

1. increase flight deck to full space
2. install Oto Melara 76/62 gun and ASW weapons.
3. need 2 CIWS(gun or missile) and don't interested Sea Wolf VM.40
4. raise the height of hangar

between Bremen Vulcan update ship plan this project was stopped by Ayutthaya Goverment, Prime minister Chanin wanted 20,000 tons Aircraft Carrier + 2 squadrons of fighter aircraft and bomber aircrafts.
