love to see some modern subs in FD, it also opens up the possibility of FD scale Sub Launched Ballistic Missiles, Sub Harpoon, Sub Launched Tomahawk and Torpedo's...... not to mention the huge variety of Soviet Sub Launched Missiles...............

I was writing Alvama the other day, he's actually been interested in redoing his FD Type IX, unfortunately he's got other priorities and projects right now.


My next FD Sub, the USN "A" Class. These followed the Holland. After that, I'll progress up the alphabet for a while. On the works is also a German Type 7. Been going through my U-Boot books and forgot just how much I've got on them. I built several 1/32nd scale RC models for customers of a manufacturer back in 1994-5. Ended up with way touch reference material.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys create!

The Adder Class (In Service 1903-1922)

USA SS-2 through 8 Adder Class As Built.

USA, SS-3 Adder. Appearance pre-1910

USA, SS-3 Adder. Post 1910 Refit

The follow-up class after the USS Holland. Primarily used to train the early USN Submarine crews and learn how to use submarines in general. This series of drawings illustrate the early external modifications made to improve sea keeping functionality.

What I've not looked into is if this class of sub was IDENTICAL to the British variant of the upgraded early Hollands.
