Thanks for the cool drawings Hood. I remember when I was in Primary School reading a book about Gunther Prien negotiating the strong tides and defences and making his famous attack on Royal oak. I thought Royal Oak was awesome.

HMS Royal Sovereign as she appeared in 1935.

The quarterdeck catapult was added in 1933 and would be removed in 1936. She had a HACS Mk.I on her foretop and had two pom-poms and two quad 0.5in HMG mounts.

[This picture and both HMS Revenge drawings during the 1930s with Kim's badge added can be found on page 1]

Nicely done Hood.

I can definitely see why these ships were referred to as the backbone of the fleet, they really were solid ships.

HMS Resolution as she appeared in 1936.

The usual upgrades and additions over time. The notable feature of Resolution was the experimental twin 4in BD Mk XVIII mount fitted between 1932-38. The mount was a success, though rate of fire with the 4in was slow, and with the 4.5in gun became a staple mount for future reconstructions and aircraft carriers.
