I've made some "improvement" to the tropical color scheme:
I wasn't satisfied with it , and i thought it could be easily confused with USN one (yellow~tan).
Then i applied it to the armored cruiser.
I've also fixed a few mistake on both ships, and added a figurehead.

When the belgians ministry of navy ordered the two “Duc de Brabant/Hertog van Brabant” battleships, it planned to complete them with an arrangement of small cruiser and torpedo boat to replace its old wooden ship navy .
In 1888 Belgian authorities were very impressed by a demonstration of the spanish Destructor.
They felt it could be a middle solution between the two designs.
Three ships were ordered from shipyard of James and George Thomson.
They were almost sister ships of the spanish destroyer.
They were commissioned between 1890 and 1891.

In 1893 they were partially rebuilt , reducing their draught, to steam up the zaire river in congo free state.
in 1896 they were replaced by new ships in the “Force Navale Publique” and affected to the Santo Tomás squadron.

I like this AU. I always wondered what would've happened if Belgium was a medium sized naval power.

Will they have submarines and light cruisers?

As the cruisers and torpedo boats were replaced by destroyers, there shouldn't be any cruiser in belgian navy.
But when i started to think about this scenario, i started to ask my self: "what should those smalls cruisers have look like?"
So drawing one of those started to "itch" me.
I think belgians could have started building one (or ordered it from a foreign shipyard)............

I didn't thought about the submarine.
That's a very good idea:
i've always wanted to draw something based on the spanish Peral.
As in this Au belgium have good relationship with spain......................

So my answer is a big YES! (but i don't know when).

Would it not make sense to share stuff with the Netherlands if they are both medium sized navel powers with colonial navy's ?

I've considered this possibility several times and especially now that i search a country where to order a small cruiser.
But i think that relationship between the two country were not good enough yet (60 years after the belgian revolution against the dutch monarchy).

But i have to say that i mostly repainted the work of Corso.
So he deserve all the "bravo".
