Considering the comments I got in the beginners forum, I think I can move these here.
RMS Mauretania (II) in as she appeared during the from her post war refit (completed only a couple voyages before the war, her maiden voyage being completed in June of 1939) into the 1960s, when she served as relief ship on the Southampton - New York run, often running full time as the third ship on the route in the summer months. In the winter months she served the Caribbean and West Indies cruise market. In 1957 she received air conditioning to better fill this role.
By the end of the 50s her role as transatlantic liner was slowly coming to end facing compitetion from larger more modern vessels and air travel and in by the 60s was mainly used for cruising. In October 1962 she received Cunard's pale green cruise livery and remained this way until retirement and scraping in 1965.
