Single hangar is possible for AAW, perhaps ASW could perhaps have a full width hangar like the Dutch S-Class frigate. As for Adis II launchers, I recommend to use the deck mounted angled launchers in AAW variant and these you have now in ASW variant. Try to put them lower if possible.

If Denton has purchased the SUR-18 ASW weapon also, the larger Adis II launcher is recommended with 12 tubes instead of 8, like Cypriot Cyrenia Class frigates, which usually carry six Adis II missiles and six SUR-18. However, Elli Class frigates have 8 tubes, due to available space.

I have moved all of the information about Denton to the first post of this topic, which includes the updated numbers for the military.

After a talk with Odysseus, I figured out the placement of the Adis II. I also worked on the mast a little bit, and experimented with two sonars.

While I based this off of the OHP, I still wonder if I have a sufficient electronics suite, and I also wonder if the weapons are in a suitable location.

Time for another Battleship!

This is the DNS Paerau BB-6, laid down in 1933, launched in 1935 and commissioned in 1937. It's sister, DNS Dublin BB-7 was to be laid down in early 1934, but due to budget constraints it was never started. DNS Paerau was the largest and heaviest ship to be built and used by the Denton Navy, eclipsing even the modern day Helicopter Cruisers.

This is a heavy WIP, based on the Dunkerque and Richelieu class of BBs. The main armament at the bow consists of two quadruple 14" turrets. Just behind the main superstructure on the sides will feature 2 double 5" turrets, and at the stern is a double 5" turret flanked by 2 quadruple 5" turrets. This configuration plays heavily on the Dunkerque's configuration, although I changed the 3rd quadruple 5" turret to a double. At the stern will be aircraft handling and along the sides and on the quad turrets will be 40mm AA with 64 guns in 16 mounts.

Although very nice, this BB has the same drawback with Dunkerque and Richelieu, lacks large guns in rear arch. This means that in battle formation she needs protection from other units at the back. Alsace class cured this. Also the 14" barrel seem too thin, but I could be wrong.

The only thing that looks strange in the Springsharp report is the fact that you've hardly done anything to cathegorize the artillery. How many guns per mount/number of mounts, what type of gun(breech loading, dual purpose, anti-air, etc.). Also, only one of the main artillery mounts should be raised.

Odysseus1980: Yes. I do realize that drawback. But for me it was mainly aesthetic. Maybe I could rationalize it by saying that France and Denton co-designed the ship or some flim-flam like that.
Concerning the 14" guns, drawing-wise they should be correct as they are from my dreadnought which also had 14 inch guns. As for the actual caliber, I figure for commonality between this and my dreadnought because this is one of only 3 ships that use a 14" caliber in the Navy.

KHT: I'll admit that I did skim through the gun mounts. I'll get that sorted. With the 5" guns, I categorized it with the middle two double turrets on one line and then aft, the two quadruples and one double were on another line. Perhaps I should reverse this to double turrets on one line and the quadruples on another?

Edit:
Fixed the SS Report

On another note, going back to my earlier Texas inspired dreadnoughts, I have changed the cage masts (thanks to David Latuch's Cage Mast Tutorial) and changed a few minor details, including the modification of the turret faces, the addition of navigation lights on the mast and the changing of the spotters tub from enclosed to open (like it's supposed to be).

[ img ]
[ img ]
While not important, I am looking to somewhat differentiate the two ships with a minor detail, to make it a little more interesting. Ideas?

Along with that, I am working on the 1927 refit of the class and this is where I am so far:
[ img ]
Pretty much it goes just like the Texas' refit, but instead of a tripod mast I want to go along the lines of a pagoda mast (again, purely for aesthetics and to differentiate this from being just like the Texas).

As always, any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

The Texas and the New York could be seperated the two by black stripes below the funnel cap on the Texas, Texas also had two anchors on the starboard side, New York only had one. The platforms on the foremast were also not the same, Texas had two, New York had one. You could also have some variation in the boat complement, maybe one has a davit near the stern and one doesn`t.

Hi ezgo,

Nice ships!

I do have a quick question - wouldn't the foremost casemates get quite wet, even for casemates, at high speed or in bad weather?

Regards,
Adam

@Karle94: Thank you for the suggestions. They have been edited in the above post.

@Adam: Thank you!
Yes. They would. You are not the first person to mention this, and I see it on most dreadnoughts. However, most all of the ships that had them were removed in later refits. On the Texas they were removed in 1925, along with the rest of the casemates. On these two ships, they would be removed in 1927.
