Hi all, I've just started to draw SMS Bayern, and wish to draw all four, it occurred to me that there are probably more but obscure reference drawings and photos that I might have missed, I have scoured Google as best as I can but I can only hope there's more out there. Any helps appreciated.

Hello Tempus Fugit!

One nasty thing about Bayern and Baden is that half the pictures are mislabeled; Baden was seemingly photographed much more frequently, but many pics of Baden in the www are labeled as Bayern. This happens much less often the other way around.

Big linedraw from the net, as good as the pics on tsushima.net. Baden only.

Photo from Breyer's Grosskampfschiffe 1905-1970, shows Baden's midships section very well. Was very useful for my L3, took many details (funnels!) from it.

nice model of Baden with very well executed rigging, better understandable as on a line-drawing

Beauty shot of Baden

Baden at Scapa Flow. No 88/45 flaks on her, ever, that's clearly seen here.

Bayern at Scapa. Note the much more austere bridgework and the second yardarm on the rear mast (at Searchlight platform level), which Baden had not.
[ img ]

Bayern running trials. I wonder which colour the upper funnels were in reality, but have found no explanation on the www yet.

Bayern sinking.

Greetings
GD

Hi GD - I think I remember the trials photo from navweaps (though I'm sure that's not the only place hosting it) - has Bayern got the belt exposed there?

I will have an look on my camera tomorrow, and see if I accidentally took an picture of a model of Bayern at the Hamburg maritime museum... if that ship wasn't Baden.
