Modelo 1905 Bolt Action Rifle
The Model 1905, is a Venezuelan clip-loaded, 5-round magazine fed, bolt-action service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century. It was officially adopted as a Venezuelan military bolt-action rifle on 1905. Developed after a requirement from the Venezuelan Army for a bolt action rifle to replace the Mausers and other rifles that were in service. The requirement arose because of experience with older weapons in service especially with the Mauser. Even do it proved to be an effective firearm troops complained it was too heavy and cumbersome especially in jungle conditions. CAVIM responded to the requirement with a rifle based on the Mauser bolt action but with a redesigned stock, shorter barrel and upgraded sights, after a series of test it was adopted by the Venezuelan army.
