I did think about removing it but I figured there wouldn't be much harm in keeping it as it would fit in with her sister ships, and otherwise the area would look a little blank.

I must say, that is a most pleasing line up you have there! Never a dull ship on this thread :)

Yes that's what i noticed too actually - perhaps the air search set off a type 22 or 23 Frigate? 1022 from the type 42 might be a bit of overkill for a ship that size.

Cheers

Yeah I did contemplate Type 1022 briefly but came to the same conclusion as you did, but it basically is the same radar set up as the Type 22's and 23's, the main difference is that my ship lacks some of the ECM found on those ships and has SPS-49. The way I figure it is that a valid case can be made for both having it and not having it, but by not having it the ship would lose some capability (how much it would lose and whether this would be important is debatable) and, more importantly, I'd have a mast that I wouldn't know what to do with
A British ship with a US radar is not without precedent - although it doesn't seem to have happened too much recently - but I would like to retain some kind of long range search at least, if not SPS-49 specifically. I think I'll go off and do some research...

Taking a trip on the TARDIS back to the Second World War, we have the Ypres class heavy cruisers:

Ooh, nice one! Interesting to see a late '30s Commonwealth heavy cruiser. What's the armour values?
Also, shouldn't the 8" barrels be four pixels thick?

Aforementioned criticisms aside, that is how a cruiser should look!

Whoa, Rowdy has done it again!
This a very, very nice looking cruiser. It looks absolutely spot on and there's nothing that I would change (well, maybe the barrel thickness)!
