According to this page of Flight Global International (
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/ ... 10%20super) an even larger VC.10 was considered. Would carry 222 passengers. Perhaps this varaint would combine the long fuselage of the BEA Short Haul VC.10 with the larger wing of "regular" airframe and maximum 230 seats. This could be moved in What-if British Aircraft thread. I named it Super-300 (as a follow on eswube's designation of Super-200).

I made the design before my vacation.
Design itself is exactly that described above, the long airframe (~196ft) with the standard 44,5m wingspan. Sorry for the resized picture, it is well above Post Image capacity, will reposted when Majhost is open again (now is down for maintenance).
