I had used the official design sheet to make the pattern, but obviously there were some differences with what was actually painted by the yards.
This is one of your biggest problem
You're too focused on official sources (US yards & so)
I discovered that unofficial sources are sometimes alot more accurate than official sources (always proven by pictures => REAL LIFE)
All of you often forget the REAL-LIFE (the main reason of the shipbucket decline)
a bit offtopic, but could you explain what you mean with the decline of shipbucket? I have yet to see that actually happen.

also, I know colo as one of the people who are quite keen on details, do tons of research and draw from picture. this remark seems not to be well aimed at him. this post also comes across as extremely rude, even by your standards, in my opinion.

This is your job
IMO, this is your job, as you seem to be doing little else on this forum

I was really hoping we wouldn't have a Colombamike argument in this thread... :/

@ acelanceloet
I do not draw, but I do more on this forum that hundreds of registered guys, which, themselves, do nothing (except post a small handfull of posts)
On the +/- 750 registered guys, how many have posted more than 10 messages ?
How many draw ships ?
How many post/give critics, comments & opinions ?
I will remember these words, when you draw the next dutch "never-were"
-----

So now, come back to the Alaska's

Colo, waiting
- Carrier conversion (1942) => plan dating from 03 january 1942, ship began to be converted (likely by summer 1942) before hull launched by mid/late 1943, carrier to be completed by mid/late 1944
- Hawai by 1948 (with 3"/50)
- Alaska & Guam by 1962/1964 (missiles conversion)

in one and the same post, you:
1. complain about what other people do
2. you say you won't do what colo asked of you
3. you make some sort of a threatening to me?
4. you ask of colo to do something?

seriously?

Hah! Hahaha. That is by far and away the best thing I've seen all week on the forum.

I just have to ask because I am genuinely curious, and don't mean this to be insulting in any way, but why does Colombamike not draw ships? He has the eye for detail and he clearly can use Paint... that's really all that's required... so it baffles me that he has never drawn anything...????
