This model come's far. But lacks the 4th turret plus the 2nd funnel (Wich was on the final plans)
Source on that?
I second that inquiry... I have heard that the IJN had decided on a 6x20.1" Main Armament rather than an 8x20.1" or 9x20.1" arrangement in an effort to keep down weight (which I see as a questionable decision at best given the lower rate of fire of the 20-inchers... a less-ambitious 12x18" arrangement would have made much more sense... then again, not building it at all, which is what they did, probably made the most sense of all, as they had much more need of carriers and escorts by that point...)

All I've heard of is "well the Japanese had some vague notion (not even plans) to comission a 20.1-inch gun battleship but they got their asses handed to them at Midway instead."

Note also that there was a very strong pro-battleship/cruiser faction vs. very strong aircraft carrier faction from asbout 1935-1941, even moreso than in the USN. The pro-battleship/cruiser faction pretty much surrendered and converted after the Midway results - which also saw Shinano, Ise, Hurana, and Mogami converted, literally.

no 4th turret and second funnel in 20.1-inch gun post-Yamato type
never
some images from italian site show 8 x 20.1-inch gun (4 turrets) and second funnel like a fast post-Yamato type with a speed more to 30 knots
science and fiction - nothing more
