David, one heck of a drawing you've got there. It is, however, spoilt by the misspelling of "future" in the credit line...

That crane just bothers me... it was traced from an incorrect plan. ;) The version in my signature is the newest, most correct edition that was scaled and drawn from official plans...

Colo,

I pulledit from "USN-WWII-Master-Sheet.PNG"; is there another more recent sheet?

Please send me a link if there is.

This is the “Late 1941 Refit”.
• Turbo-Electric Drive has been replaced with standard propulsion
• The funnels have been separated.
• 5”/25s are now behind splinter shields.
• CXAM-1 radar antenna has been added.
• The floatplane catapult on turret three has been removed.
• The aft cage mast has been removed and replaced with a more modern mast.
• 8 BMGs are now mounted in the foremast.

I do not think it is that easy to replace turbo electric drive with direct propulsion. was this ever done IRL?

That sheet gets updated periodically. ;) The newest version is in the thread linked in my signature. It updates itself automatically with dropbox. There's a bit of text at the top that has the latest revision date. ;)
