Those directors all require some level of deck penetration (excluding the Mk.33s, the aftmost one of which is mounted in an extremely improbable spot high up the mainmast!). I doubt you would see Mark 37 directors on this ship until a mid-war refit reduces the superstructure drastically. I'm not an expert on the Mark 33 director but I'm fairly sure it's too heavy for at least the spot where you've mounted the aft one. The fore director looks fine.

This ship has a mid-war (at the earliest) electronics fit that doesn't seem realistic. I doubt you'd see any radar on the Mk.33s, and certainly no Mk.37 directors and definitely no SG or SK! :) :P

So your whole thread is biased/useless
Simply because this 1919 design is not a real design study, it is only a concept/sketch for show, nothing else

I kept the 5"25s on the crane tops because that's where the sketch indicated they were--in the next refit they will be moved down to the boat deck and most likely be agmented by another to make the after section symetrical with the fore. I also changed the crane.
I fully agree with you :)

I fully agree with you :) , 5"/25 gun atop tower-crane really unusable !!! (the overall sponson is too small/cramped & toooo high/fragile to guns muzzle/blast)

I think it's very telling that Colombamike was able to find THREE different versions of the Mark 19 gun director on three different drawings, none of which are similar... I really wish you guys would stop just tracing everything and actually do some research on the different pieces of equipment on each ship!

Will ColombaMike,

Here is the revision of the Sketch workup as you've suggested.

Great, now your drawing look "same as" the concept/skektch
If you want "to play" real-life, you can attemp few following versions, such as :
- a "as completed" by 1927
- 1936-1939
- mid-late 1941

Hi David,

A quick query - would the 'B' and 'C' turrets have rangfinders and directors on the top? (Unless those are directors for the 6in, but the rangefinder base length looks a little long for a 6in director, iirc)

Regards,
Ad

Despite what others might say, David...I've thought every drawing in this thread has been fantastic. I'm still seriously considering putting this vessel in my Pacific War AU.

Here She is "Tentatively as Completed" by 1927:
