burke is the USN DDG-51 Arleigh Burke class.
AAW = anti air warfare
ASW = anti-submarine warfare
Flight 2A is an subclass of the DDG-51 class.

google and wikipedia are your friends to find out stuff like that.

you have to get an grasp of what is what before you are capable of designing your ships yourself ;)

Hi Battleship lover,

Ace has already gone over most of the points you've asked - and you can certainly design your own turrets, one thing I would recommend from seeing it done well and seeing it done badly, sketch out the internals for yourself (you don't have to post it, but no harm if you want to) and don't forget the fundamentally 3-d nature of it - a fairly common mistake is forgetting that if the barrel goes up, the breech has to come down (on triple and quad turrets particularly, fitting this in results in a "step" at the front of the turret to give the outer guns room to lift) - if you look at the KGV turrets in the parts section you'll see what I mean.

NOW you have moved the VLS to far forward, it didn't have space there at all. Before you continue at all, look at the real world. Oh just remove the GMLS, the VLS do the same work.

Well. It's a start at least but there are a plethora of things that could and should be changed...
  • VLS Placement forward, swap it with the gun and bring the gun backwards towards the VLS
  • Overall freeboard and hull depth is way too out of proportion for something this size IMO
  • Those harpoons are a long way above the deck, like a really long way. Perhaps move them elsewhere
  • Why you have a Mk.26 on this as well as two Mk.41s is completely beyond me, get rid of it.
  • Currently your hangar space is pretty much zero, might wanna fix that.
  • Swap the aft-most VLS with the H-60 and bring the area where that resides down a deck giving you a hangar tunnel either side of the VLS
That's just for starters.

for 10 hull with 3.5BN you will be looking at a Frigate type. (and not a very big one at that)

This will be smaller and less capable (but still a worthwhile thing to design :) ).

I have done a quick cut and paste using your ships of what sort of size I think it might be (and I may be wrong ;) if you use it sorry but you will have to redo the hull better than I have).

A FF (frigate) will not have any duplicate weapons (it just cant afford them, the duplication is having 10 hull for the price of 2 DDs).
You may have to cut your systems (weapons/radar to budget).

If you have $350m then you might look at, (these are just from the internet so probably a bit wrong)
- Danish Absalon: 269 $ million.
- Danish Iver-Huitfeldt: 332 $ million.
- South African Valour Meko 200A: 327 $ million
- German Braunschweig K-130 :$309 million
- Turkish Milgem : $250 million
- Malaysian Kedah : $300 million
- Omani Khareef : $262 million

Defiantly FF or Corvettes
