There are Vertical Launch SSM on the ship, the SSM-75A (that "SM2" with two red lines). Main SSM are Exocet, which need separate canisters.

KDX-II has one 32-cell MK41 and one 24 cell (for the K-Asroc). I think it can have two 32cell modules mouthed transversely.

The SAM-75 is a reverse engineered SM2-MR with a local developed booster and the electronic unit for guidance by the APAR, is not a full indigenous program.

Complement number is the same with KDX-II.

Huh. Well, color me surprised. Almost nobody arranges their VLS that way. You learn something every day.

According to photo Ace found, KDX-II can fit an 64-cell VLS or two 32-cell modules side by side. A closer look in that photo clears all questions.

while it is an tight fit, it should be possible to have some additional sets of Mk 41 next to the ones on this pic (the empty space here is reserved for K-VLS)
the block seems a bit offset though, being not entirely on the centerline, so maybe the limit would be 48 cells, but there is not much stopping you from making the deckhouse slightly wider then it is now, and fitting the 64 cell.
the ship is said to be spacious enough to have an 56 cell Mk 41 over there..... I have not yet found the reason why it is 56 and nog 64.
Yeah, no, you actually can't do that, due to structural integrity problems. Remember that you're basically cutting a huge hole in your ship, and need to strengthen the structure around it. Don't forget that the VLS block reaches right down to the waterline, so you actually have to deal with the inward curve of the hull too at that point.

Seems like the 56 VLS could come from three additional K-VLS blocks arranged in the traditional manner.:

Seems it is physically possible to put a 64 cell VLS there, but I seriously doubt it is structurally possible. 48 seems to be the max for this location, with a traditional MK-41 installation. Of course a solution can be to lengthen the deckhouse, and put a 64 cell in in the traditional manner, but then you'd have to ditch the 127 LW for a smaller cannon, like the 76.

48 cell Mk41 then, containing only SAM and the ASW rocket (4 ESSM, 12 SUR-30VL and 32 SAM-75A) or change with mission.

Could a lengthened KDX-II support the 64 cell MK41 and the 127/64LW? Just investigate every possibility.

A variant of Nansen Class? With APAR of course.

I don't see the immediate need on smaller (<7,500 Tonnes) vessels for such a large amount of VLS cells.

What's the time frame that you're looking at getting them?

By the time he has lengthened it enough it won't be a <7500t vessel anymore.
