I'm only good with vessels up to and during WW2 so I can't really help with many areas. I don't have any knowledge when it comes to the computer, missile and sensor age of warship design, only gold ol' optics and gun barrels.

Very well done, useful and interesting, i applaud your efforts guys; unfortunately i cannot help because like Deondon my knowledges (maybe even more restructed to WWII era) ends around the late 40's, when it comes to missiles and modern vessels i'm a complete ignorant.

I myself found this thread a goldmine of information with excellent drawings to boot. Thank you both Ace and Eswube. As for knowledge I'm more in-line with Denodon and BB1987, as I'm more at home with ships of WW2, although the time period between that war and the beginning of the missile age is also in my line of interest. Also merchant ships of course (mainly cargo and passenger ships) of the time from the beginning of the 20th century up to the 1950's or 1960's

Yeah, it would be very good to make it stickied.
Initial plans called also for analogous sets of battleships and battlecruisers, cruisers, minesweepers and dock landing ships (and maybe also corvettes, torpedo and missile strike crafts, submarines and aircraft carriers could be done), but it seems that these would have to be shelved. Well, constraints of life...

Anyway, thank You all for kind words.

I have also linked this thread from the beginners guide. I hope I will be able to do the write-ups myself after all, as nobody else has stepped up as volunteer

gentlemen, now blackbuck linked somebody towards this place again, it reminds me of it's existence as an unfinished project. while I don't have that much more time then I had when I got stuck on this, I have since gained more knowledge and should be able to finish it with very little research done. my question to all of you now, is if this is worthwile. if some members find it so, I will do my best to expand this, and I might even draw or cooperate to create an expansion of this project to other ship types, if time and knowledge allows me to do so.

so, what do you all say about that idea?

PS - I'm almost tempted to try a set on battleships myself (not that I'm sufficiently good to make them to your standard but I might learn from doing them ).
