So a Hermes could launch a Rafale M and Hornet. Interesting enough to add in concern for an AU Britain.

For anything British includes aircraft I have separate thread. Recent posts there are for aircraft carriers and Fleet Air Arm, please look my thought about the current British aircraft carrier. If we cross the "R23" design above and the "270m carrier" from my thread about What if British Aircraft I think we will have the winner. I really want to see this, but in that thread, not here.

I thought my FAA as a strike force in Cold War, for anti-submarine missions and attack to Soviet surface vessels with ASM Sea Eagle/Golden Eagle. Air superiority goes to USA with the Tomcat and F-4. Of course, today things are very different from Cold War era and a multirole aircraft is needed. The Hornet is very good, as also Rafale.

And something for Hellenic Kingdom:

Is a SES hull suitable for Aegean/Ionian and East Mediterranean? Asking with Skjold and Oksoy Classes in mind.

Oksoy Classes have operated in Mediterranean with great success. the advantage of SES is that it have les hull in water when driving/maneuvering, but still have enough hull in water to keep control during operation.

I think it would work, it have the stability advantage, sea-capability advantage over other hull in same size. And SES hull is basically an catamaran with skirt in front and in rear. depending on which year of build, you have either a separate engine driving the lifting fans, or it is connected to the gearbox/electric drive.

Just future programming, I have 10 older generation missile boats to replace (Combattante III) and several modified Adjudant/MSC 294 Class (modified to Italian Castagno Class spec). Already are in service 10 mine hunters based on a modified Osprey design (Alkyon Class).

If Skjold enters service, will be followed by NSM missiles.Six missile boats carry Penguin SSM and the newer design will also carry Norwegian missiles, continuing the "tradition". As for minehunters, RHN plans to order 4 more Alkyon and 6-8 Oksoy (6 is more likely).

Iver Huitfeldt class Frigate: Does this design is flexible enough for support 64cell Mk41, 8 SSM, one 127/64 LW and my CIWS? (Latter will installed with the missile unit front and gun unit rear). Could have also CODOG propulsion or only CODAD?

Another question is if Stanflex system could be built/modified for Exocet missiles.

Names of these ships will be the same with Combattante III missile boats, which they intend to replace. At least six units will have NSM missiles. Perhaps NSM will integrated to P-3H and P6M also.

What about the Danish Frigate?

most likely you would use JSM for the Orions, since that one is an NSM modified for aircraft launch.

Could the Iver Huitfeldt-class frigate take CODOG propulsion?
