It stops RPGs quite well.

IVECO Perentie S-Cab ("Taipan" Heavy Duty SAS Variant)

For pegasus206 :)

[ img ]

This is a heavy duty version of the IVECO Perentie S-Cab set up for the SAS. Wider wheelarches, heavy duty suspension and larger tyres are some of the notable differences.

I agree with the function, but he is correct as far as the look goes. The forward part should have a different shape, as evidenced by the photograph.

I wasn't referring to the purpose of it  I was referring to the fact that it could be better shaped rather than it jutting out six million miles from the front of the vehicle. Look at a Stryker with bar armour and tell me that it sticks out that far from the ends of the vehicle.

Pretty much this. That is all.

I understand what you mean now. Front side bar armor is usually tall enough to provide coverage for the driver's hatch. Above that the glacis is typically flat enough to deflect the shot on its own.

There were several occasions in Iraq or Afghanistan that slat-armored vehicles nearly pushed me off the road. But that was much preferred to being on the receiving end of an RPG shot. I hate those things.

Lovely drawings Easty.

These small Utility Vehicles look very much like Land Rovers. Any connection?
