Transrapid, another of those great German developments that perished at home...

Based on the Transrapid 07, and licensed by Thyssen-Krupp and Siemens, KEA developed their own Maglev System for Aotearoa Railroad.
Transrapid and KEA's Transregio provide fast and comfortable Transportation between most major cities and airports on the Islands of New Zealand. To enable the narrower Transregio to use the wider Transrapid rail, its undercarriage can be extended.
Speeds are up to 250 kmph for the Transregio and up to 550 kmph for the Transrapid.

Although there are trains named KEA Airport Express they're still owned and operated by Aotearoa Railroad. KEA simply pays for their maintenance and operation.

A special train is the so called TraNZrapid, which connects all major cities from Auckland in the North to Invercargill in the deepest south of NewZealand on a daily base. crossing the Cook-Strait on its way using the more than 80km long, (hopefully ;) ) earthquake-safe, Cook-Strait-Bridge. On this Bridge, speed is limited to 120 kmph for safety reasons.

The red structure in the front-view shows a typical platform. The rail depicted gives about ten meters or thirty feet of clearance, which is standard for railway stations, normally the clearance is just half of that for the Transrapid and just three meters or nine feet for the Transregio.
By the way, the guy underneath the rail and on the platform is a maintenance man named Jeff.

Very well done! :)
Are You planning, perhaps, to draw the historical German Transrapid?
Greetings to Jeff. :lol:

Don't know, Eswube. Maybe, but I haven't thought about them yet.
By the way, have you ever thought about the Focke Wulf FW200 Condor? :P

It looks like the Monorail system at DisneyWorld in Florida between Magic Kingdome, MGM and Epcot.

@KimWolf
I did thought about Fw-200 Condor, and I think it would be a pleasure to do it, but I also think that somebody (Imperialist?) may have it on his to-do list (and my own FD scale to-do list is already horribly long :lol: ) - but if nobody will do it for some time and I will have some spare time, then "maybe" - but right now I rather wouldn't make such commitment.

@adenandy
Can't deny that similarity, but Disney's Monorail looks the way it does just to look cool, which it sure does.

@APDAF
Sure, but if, I'll only do both three unit versions on one sheet. Alas, you need some patience as I had so many problems with it that I need a little time off

@Eswube
Greetings from Jeff... Copeshi, who's great-grandfather Jaromir Kopecký emigrated from Opočno during the 1920s. :)

@ all the others
Thanks, was a pleasure to draw them - and a bit of a pain in the... well, you know where :roll:
