the 747 ain't to a far fetched idea, I mean the US has tested launching an ICBM out of the back of a C5 so putting a similar contraption in a C17 or C5 with several Cruise missiles aint that different.....

Imagine that 747 dressed as regular passenger airliner flying a regular route near the airspace of somebody you didn't like...

Note that, as the Iowas already had four funnels trunked into two, to trunk that further into a single funnel would've been massive.

Looks more like the Tennessee/California/West Virginia and South Dakota meets Iowa.

It was to be the fifth Iowa class BB. She was still under construction when the war ended and was cancilled in Aug. 1945.

Indeed they did.

Google it, I think you will find that bow was from the incomplete hull of USS Kentucky - the remainder of which wasn't scrapped till 1958.
