Fantastic photos!

OK, seems there is some revision to be done (mainly with the camouflage) on the June 1942 version. I'll get to it once I get home from work.

Regarding this photo:



The Floating Drydock plans I have are dated June 1942, and were the basis of most of this version's modifications. They clearly show one liferaft on the top of turret 3, with a pair stacked atop each other right aft - from the photos, it looks like the second pair of life rafts were the smaller type. I will have to fix that.

There was no Mark 4 radar fitted to the aft Mark 37 director until the November 1942 refit (which added it on the characteristic long struts seen early on).

As a camouflage reference, I used Randall Shoker's "USS North Carolina Technical Reference" (an excellent publication) which has camouflage guides for the Measure 12 modified scheme - though it's clearly off a bit from the photos I'm seeing now. Will revise that shortly...

I see I've left a remnant of the walkway around the secondary conn on the aft side of the fire control tower... will delete that.

The tub on the bridge superstructure aft of the forward Mk.37 director contains a Mk.51 director (at least according to the Floating Drydock plans). Its aft counterpart contained a 20mm Oerlikon - and it's interesting to note that the arrangement alternated on the port side of the ship, with a Mk.51 director aft and a 20mm Oerlikon forward. I've confirmed this from photos as well as the AA arrangement listed in the North Carolina Technical Reference book.

Re: the light forward of the 20mm Oerlikon tub atop the pilot house, it's obvious that wasn't there at this point either - will remove it ASAP.

I think that about covers it for BB-55 unless anyone else has any corrections to suggest.

Ah... I'm not sure the November 1941 - February 1942 version really has enough changes to demand a new version. I'd prefer to only make a new version if there was a camouflage change, major radar update, or significant anti-aircraft gun addition (if that makes sense). Right now there aren't many differences I can spot between a November 41 and June 42 edition.

Re: USS Washington, will start on that one once I finish the revisions for BB-55.

Re: South Dakota class... well I'm not sure that will be happening any time soon. I have more of a mind to revise my Fletcher DDs and also the Iowas.

Revised the camouflage colors on the Measure 32 variants and also recolored the propellers.

Never been too fond of the WW2-era ships, have to admit, therefore I've only had a cursory look at this thread.
But seeing the Tar Heel-State Battle Wagon being iterated in such fashion, I cannot help but sense a feeling of absolutely awesomeness over how these have been perfectly drawn!

I just had buy the Robert F. Sumrall's book about the Iowa class battleship and I am actually reworking my 1980's New Jersey version. Also, I would possibly do as you some WW2 and postwar versions but if you want I can help you...
