One of the most important fighter of the 30s decade and early 40s deserved, in my opinion, an important post.

With over 1200 planes built, the Fiat Cr.32 was considered as a very good fighter for it's time and it's success encouraged FIAT to keep producing biplane fighters (namely the Fiat Cr.42) instead of switching to the more advanced and reliable monoplanes.

Notes:
  • 1. I've decided to group the airplanes in submodels although all of them looked physhically the same just for clarity's sake
    2. I've also skiped on purpose the Chinese version and the 4th Stormo one because Darthpanda already made them. You can check them here and here
    3. I only drawed the most used variants and skipped the prototypical ones like Cr.33, Cr.40, Cr.40bis and Cr.41
That said, here i present you the Fiat Cr.32 in all it's glory!

Fiat Cr.32: Initial version. It was intended to be a pure air superiority fighter. Italy, Germany, Republican Spain and Spain:

Fiat Cr.32bis: The most widely used and successful version. Built from 1935 onwards. They had installed two 7.70mm Breda-SAFAT underwings MGs apart from other two 12.70mm or 7.70mm in the fuselage itself. However the extra weight of the underwings MGs made the airplane to loose important maneouvrability issues and many of them were removed. It was considered as a fighter-bomber.
Italy, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Nationalist Spain, Paraguay and Soviet Union/USSR:

Fiat Cr.32 Ter: Lightened version of the Cr.32bis which only had the 12,7mm BREDA-SAFAT fuselage MGs. Only 103 planes were built and all of them were used in the Spanish Civil war:
Nationalist Spain

Fiat Cr.32 Quater: Lightened version of the Cr.32 which had the same armament as the ter version. 398 planes of this version were made.
Italy and Venezuela:

HA-132L Chirri: The Spanish licensed built version. Approximately 100 of them were made in Seville by Hispano Aviación from 1938 to 1948 either from scratch or rebuilding them from older airplanes. They were in active service as trainers until 1953.

The Master of Camo (especially green blobby desert camo) strikes again.
Some seriously excellent work, I hope your elbow is holding out!
